Sophie began her career as a Judges’ Associate at the District (County) and Family Court in New Zealand and joined Taussig Cherrie Fildes in January 2025.

Sophie began her career as a Judges’ Associate at the District (County) and Family Court in New Zealand.

As a Judges’ Associate Sophie was involved in a wide range of family law matters, including parenting arrangements; child support; cases involving allegations of violence and abuse; property disputes involving estates, trusts and corporate structures; spousal maintenance and extra-jurisdictional financial agreements.

Complimenting her knowledge of family law, Sophie’s experience extends to youth law, criminal law, and private prosecutions, which gives her valuable insight into court etiquette and the rules of evidence.

Sophie joined Taussig Cherrie Fildes in January 2025 after being admitted to practice in Victoria in December 2024.
