Bio

Cara was previously employed at the Family Court of Australia (as it was then known) as a Legal Associate to the Honourable Justice Johns and the Honourable Justice Thornton. Throughout her time at the Family Court, she was directly involved in both interim and final hearings and gained extensive experience in a wide range of family law matters.

Cara’s thorough knowledge of family law and the court processes and procedures ensures she provides advice in a practical manner, while advocating for the outcomes sought by her clients. She has instructed both Senior Counsel and Counsel in interim and final hearings, in Division 1 and Division 2 of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

With an interest in complex financial matters, Cara regularly liaises with her clients’ business advisors, accountants and other allied professionals to ensure relevant advice is provided and any complexities are resolved at settlement.

Cara has experience in parenting matters including in complex matters involving family violence, drug and alcohol abuse and relocation. Cara is a member of the LIV Parenting Working Group.
